Our Mission is…
To be the first women to paddle the 2,250 miles from Minneapolis to Hudson Bay.
In 1930, two brave young men paddled from Minneapolis to Hudson Bay and documented their odyssey in the book Canoeing With the Cree. For the 75th anniversary of this historic adventure, two men canoed the same route in 2005, followed by two other men in 2008. No women have ever successfully canoed this route.
To encourage young women to go on their own adventures.
Going on wilderness trips has significantly shaped our lives and we hope that, by taking this trip, young women will be inspired to explore the outdoors. Previous groups that traveled this route received great publicity, and we expect to get media coverage from several sources in hopes that word of our adventure will inspire our technological generation to get outdoors!
To fundraise for Menogyn Camperships.
After our $2,500 trip budget is met, all proceeds go directly to YMCA Camp Menogyn.
