Hudson Bay
Bound

Ann and Natalie looking
      into the distance

Our Mission…

In 2011, Ann Raiho and Natalie Warren were the first women to paddle the 2,250 miles from Minneapolis to Hudson Bay.

In 1930, two brave young men paddled from Minneapolis to Hudson Bay and documented their odyssey in the book Canoeing With the Cree. For the 75th anniversary of this historic adventure, two men canoed the same route in 2005, followed by two other men in 2008. Ann Raiho and Natalie Warren became the first two women to canoe this route.

Encourage young women to go on their own adventures.

Going on wilderness trips has significantly shaped our lives and we hope to inspire young women to explore the outdoors through sharing our story. See the presentations(link) page for more information to book a Hudson Bay Bound talk for your institution or event.

In 2012, Natalie started Wild River Academy. Based in Minneapolis, WRA provide teenagers with an opportunity to paddle the Minnesota River, stopping along the route to talk with environmental organizations, community members and farmers, and State Parks.

Fundraise for Menogyn Camperships.

After our $2,500 trip budget was met, proceeds went to YMCA Camp Menogyn. Stone Harbor in Grand Marais, MN sold a canoe on our behalf to support the scholarship fund at Menogyn.
